Cast Off Photos

Wondering what Petra’s kitchen looks like? Want to see the galley of an East Indiaman? You’ve come to the right place. I took all of these pictures on a research trip to the Netherlands where I visited the Batavia, an exact replica of a Dutch East Indiaman that was built in 1628 (you can see it for yourself if you visit Lelystad), and the Amsterdam, a replica you can find at the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam.
