About Me
I was born in Mt. Vernon, New York, but grew up in Westfield, New Jersey, a suburb of New York City. I lived with my parents, my older sister, and a whole lot of pets. At one point we had a dog, a cat, a rabbit, two parakeets, a hamster, and a few goldfish (Taffy, Tiger, Bucky, Chipper III, Tweety, Harold, and Unnamed).
I studied music and literature in college because the two things I loved doing most in the world were singing and reading. After college, I was an opera singer, I worked in book publishing, I got an MBA, I did some businessy things, I taught, and I wrote.
Today I live in New York City with my human family and two cats. There’s a hawk that hangs out on the traffic light across the street from our apartment. I like to think of her as a neighbor.
